Part one of two: Mary's Story
"I was nervous about getting married. Who isn't? But, I knew Joseph was a good man, he comes from a good family. I've always wanted to be a wife and mother, what else would I be?
Then, the angel showed up. I know he was a real angel. He told me that God chose me to carry His son, the Messiah! I think every girl dreams about it a little bit, and of course I knew I was in the right family line. But, still. Me!?!
We need the Messiah, we need Him badly. We're being crushed under the Romans. It seems you hear stories of new executions and violence every day. We're ready for Him to come and save us. We've been waiting for thousands of years. It seems our suffering might be coming to an end.
What will happen when Joseph finds out? What will my mother and father say? Will anyone believe me?
I know this. I am carrying the Christ. Jehovah will protect us both, and I will do my best to be a good mother to Him."
Part two of two: Mary's Story
"I tried not to be anxious, and it turns out there was no need. Jehovah prepared my family, and especially Joseph, for the arrival of our Savior.
All generations will call me blessed. He who is mighty has done great things for me. He is merciful to those who fear him, and He is helping all of Israel.
We had to travel to Bethlehem for the census, and of course I should have known that because of the prophecy. I knew the baby was coming soon, but I truly didn't expect to give birth in a stable!
It was perfect, though. The whole process was amazing. And now, we have this tiny, perfect baby. We had so many visitors and phenomenal things happening around his birth, it will take me awhile to process it all.
We have a Savior. He is here."
NOTE: This is my own rendition of the Christmas story from Mary's perspective. I did my best to stick to what the Scripture told us but be sure to check out Luke 1 & 2 to read it for yourself.
Part one of two - Chrissy's Story.
Pictured is her ultrasound, taken at 15 weeks by Alpha Omega Center.
"We were so excited when we found out I was pregnant. I had a miscarriage earlier in the year and we were so sad. I was thrilled to find out I was expecting another baby.
Then, the pain started. I had daily, almost constant, migraines that were so awful I couldn't get off the couch. My anxiety skyrocketed. I experienced horrible nausea. I could barely take care of myself and I was worried about how it was affecting my older daughter.
I was seeing doctors constantly, one of them said I was the worst case they had ever seen. Throughout the pregnancy, abortion kept coming up. I was in such bad shape, I didn't know what else to do.
Finally, one of my doctors told me I had to have an abortion by the next Friday. Otherwise, there was nothing else they could do."
Part two of two - Chrissy's Story.
"I talked a lot to Alpha Omega Center, and to Sarah, and I knew I couldn't have an abortion. I was scared, but I was going to do whatever it took to keep my baby safe.
Marley just turned one. She is my little angel. We love her so much. What I went through was so hard, the hardest thing I have ever done, but I am so glad we have her in our lives.
I want to use my story to encourage others. Maybe you're facing difficulty with your pregnancy. Maybe you don't know what to do. I want to tell you that it's worth it. Marley was worth it, I can't imagine my life without her."
